CPCAB 2 YEAR DIPLOMA IN THERAPEUTIC COUNSELLING

LEVEL 4

The 2 year Diploma offers students the opportunity of completing their training. On successful completion of the Diploma students will be qualified Counsellors and proficient to work out of an Agency Setting ie Doctors Surgery etc.

Over the 2 years this course provides students with at least 450 hours of Humanistic Integrative training (in line with the BACP requirements for students wishing to apply for accreditation at a later date)

This is a highly demanding course and requires a great deal of time commitment and some additional costs.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: You will need to have successfully completed the CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Skills and the CPCAB Certificate in Counselling Studies (or the equivilent).

Not to have experienced a trauma in the previous 2 years.

Assessment: Students will build a portfolio of work for both year 1 and year 2 and this will be considered towards the internal assessment. Students are also required to sit an external assessment in year 2.

Additional Costs include: Clinical Supervision which will begin when you start client work and held fortnightly with external supervisors.

Membership of the BACP
Professional Indemnity Insurance (Optional if covered by placement insurance)
Personal Therapy (a minimum of 30 hours)

34 WEEKS per year

The CPCAB in conjunction with the Open University are now offering a Foundation Degree Counselling and the Level 4 Diploma is part the route to the Degree.
